This multi-million dollar premier winery is best known for its classic, potentially long-lived red wines that sell for moderately high prices. The unfiltered 1996 Pago Negralada, an intense crimson colour, 65% Tempranillo, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, was aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels, 50% of them new. Even if it is still closed, it offers a promising bouquet of minerals, vanilla and black currants. It is powerful and full-bodied with moderately high tannins. Expected maturity now until 2029.
