Norbert says:
Roberto Voerzio has quickly become a superstar in Piedmont, even if his estate is only 12 hectares in size. A quality fanatic, he produces some of the most majestic and complex Barolos. He relies on organic cultivation and often cuts out up to 50% of the fruit in his vineyard before harvest. The 1997 Barolo La Serra is an exciting, dense, ruby to crimson wine that offers notes of currant, black cherry and liquorice, a powerful meaty texture, lots of glycerin and a creamy, smooth, velvety finish. Estimated maturity now until 2030.
