The slate flower is the entry into the bio-dynamic wine world of Rita and Rudolf Trossen, and the ideal wine to get closer to the style of the winery. Grown in different vineyards on gray and blue Devonian slate, the Riesling Schieferblume combines filigreeness and deep complexity with an immense drinking flow and lightness. The nose is dominated by ripe fruit, stone fruit, some melon, but also a cool, floral and herbal kind, the scent is intense and engaging. The acid grabs briefly, then comes something melting and ripe fruit again, plus some lime. The wine is great fun and at an unbelievable price. Estimated maturity now until 2030.
