Norbert says:
The 2009 is similar in style to the 2005 and has hereby achieved the top level of the decade. Warm nights led to a drop in acidity, but this was compensated for by the early harvest. Raveneau has not chaptalized since 2007 and has reduced yields below 40 hl per hectare. You can access the Ravenau cellars through a small door that leads directly onto the street. The lucky few who get to taste here have to bend down to fit through the doorway. The 2009 Foret 1er Cru presents wonderful aromas of sweet white fruits, candied apples, almonds and red berries. This concentrated wine offers large amounts of minerals, chalk and flint. Expected maturity now until 2029.
