2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
2000 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Norbert says:
3 weeks of fermentation at an average temperature of 28°. Contrary to old practice, the grapes are now completely destemmed, then a vintage is bottled in one go and no filtration is used. Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle ocher edge brightening. Nougat, currants, fresh figs, dark wild berries, candied orange zest, multi-faceted bouquet. Full-bodied, very complex, concentrated sweet texture, ripe plums and figs, chocolatey tannins, mineral and persistent for minutes. A poignant world class wine. Expected maturity now until 2040.
