Norbert says:
From 1971 to 1997, this small estate belonged to Jean-Paul Valette, owner of the Premier Grand Cru Classé Pavie, located on the hillside a few meters below Pavie Decesse. In 1997 Valette sold the estate to Gerard Perse, the ambitious young owner of Monbousquet. The vineyard is located on the Côte de St Emilion on chalky clay and limestone soil. The quality on this estate developed in a similar way to that of its well-known big brother, Château Pavie. The 2004 produced with yields of 30 hl/ha underwent a five-week maceration. The impenetrable crimson wine is firmer and more mineral than the Monbousquet. Estimated maturity now until 2032.
