Norbert says:
In 1802, Peter Diel acquired the estate of Baron von Dallberg, with Layen Castle. Under the management of Armin Diel and his wife Monika, the business was expanded and switched to Riesling and Burgundy varieties. The daughter took over the business in 2006 and from then on the wines became better and more pure. The scent is initially chocolaty, but also burgundy-spicy. Tree wood, undergrowth, almond and juniper. With air contact more and more berry, wild strawberry, raspberry. A strong dose of mellow tannins, on a soft, wide base. Subtle acidity. Lots of juice in the finish, very good potential. Estimated maturity now until 2030.
